TRADITIONAL VENEZUELAN AREPA

it is considered “the best breakfast in the world” and, through this simple three-ingredient recipe, you will learn the secret to prepare an authentic arepa.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 1/2 cups of P.A.N. Corn Flour
  • 3 ¼ cups of water
  • 1 teaspoon of salt

PREPARATION

Mix water and salt in a bowl

Slowly mix the ingredients, constantly mixing with a wooden spoon for 2 minutes. Then, let stand for 2 more minutes.

Divide the dough into ten (10) portions. Form small balls of dough and then flatten with your hands to obtain 10 cm discs.

Heat a buttered pan and place the arepas on medium heat for 5 minutes on each side.

Open them and fill them with whatever you want.
