The facility of Alimentos Polar España has been awarded with the IFS certification for a third year in a row.
Madrid, March 6, 2023 – LGAI TECHNOLOGICAL CENTER, S.A. (APPLUS), the official certifying entity for IFS (International FeaturedStandards Food) standards in accordance with IFS Management GmbH, has awarded Alimentos Polar España’s facility for the third consecutive year for its compliance with high standards in food safety management systems that guarantee the safety of the products manufactured and marketed, observing regulations and complying with the requirements of its customers.
IFS Food is an international food safety standard, which is essential for the placement of products in the different markets.
Once again, Empresas Polar’s international business facilities are acknowledged for their highest standards in food safety and quality management. In January of this year, the Plant located in Greenville, Texas, operated by International Grains and Cereal (IGC) was audited by the certifying entity, achieving once again the renewal of the IFS Food certification. On this occasion, the factory recognized was the Plant located in Madrid, of Alimentos Polar España.

“The scope of the certification includes the production of wheat flour and cornmeal-based products, ready-to-eat vegetable-based dishes, ready-to-eat meals based on meat and vegetables, fresh cheese and cream with a variety of technological processes such as cooking, refrigeration, freezing, cutting, labeling, vacuum and protective atmosphere packaging, etc.,” said Marysol Pérez, Quality Director of Alimentos Polar España, S.L.
